Drummer Danny Schwartz is back from a life-transforming tour to the Virgin Islands with fabulous swingsters the Grandsons! And 90-year old Bill Mason, the drummer for pedal steel man Leon Kasdorf's moonlight band, the Oklahoma Twisters , was featured on WJLA-TV for being a Washington musical treasure. Go see the clip. Janet Emma Garbe and Julia Kasdorf met
in May 2000 and discovered they had a knack for harmony singing,
penning, and arranging songs together. Rounded out by stellar "high
lonesome" pedal steel man Lynn Kasdorf, and later joined by the inimitable lead guitarist Stuart Martin, OHT is joined by DC's busiest bass players Rico Petrocelli and Nick Mcallister, and the talented and versatile drummer Danny Schwartz of Band House Gigs.
ONE HORSE TOWN performs in the VA/DC/MD region regularly, and began heading out nationally in 2007, including the legendary Blue Bird Cafe, Nashville.
OHT has been blessed to have shared the stage with Nashville up-and-comers Last Train Home, Dead Reckoner Kevin Welch, Rickie Simpkins, Jon Carroll, Orrin Starr, Jimmy Gaudreau, John Starling, Austin Cunningham, the Marshall Tucker Band, and recently, the entire stellar DC music community for the Bob Dylan Tribute at the gorgeous Strathmore Music Hall! Thanks to Ronnie Newmeyer and the folks at Band House Gigs for a most magical evening
Venues such as the renowned Jammin' Java, Iota Club & Cafe, Ashland Tea & Coffee, and the State Theater have welcomed OHT for repeat performances. In early 2008, OHT realized a dream by playing the Birchmere in Alexandria, opening a sold-out show for pals Eddie from Ohio.
